Ukraine Central Bank bans purchase of crypto with local currency

People in Ukraine can still buy cryptocurrencies. But they can only do so with foreign currencies.

 

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) wants to prevent capital outflows amid martial law.

 

Ukrainians who want to buy crypto with foreign currencies also have a limit to what they can buy. For each month, each individual can only buy up to 100,000 UAH or $3,300.

 

Ukraine will use this means as a way of strengthening the foreign exchange market, for the sake of easing restrictions in the future.
