Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH), based in Cambridge, England, is launching an innovative learning platform for its Epic® Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. uPerform was chosen to support the onboarding and ongoing training of nursing staff and to ensure that hospital staff (Epic users) have the necessary resources to utilize the system to its full potential.
The CUH is a hospital group, including Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie, which, as part of the National Health Service (NHS), provides specialist care to more than 4.5 million patients locally, regionally and nationally in England. The CUH Hospital Group was the first NHS trust to implement Epic in the UK and the first NHS trust to achieve level 7 of the HIMSS EMRAM.
The CUH Hospital Group, which employs over 10,500 people, was looking for innovative ways to expand its Epic training program to include new staff onboarding, ongoing learning and skill optimization of existing staff, and new training for Epic upgrades support.
The CUH Hospital Group chose uPerform to help nurses use Epic proficiently by delivering personalized, contextual Epic training materials at the point of need.
uPerform will also support CUH’s Epic Thrive program to further support the dedicated physicians, nurses and medical support staff with ongoing refresher and efficiency training.
The CUH Hospital Group is the first NHS trust to join the more than three dozen leading healthcare systems already using uPerform in the United States, the Netherlands and Finland.
