HardFacts: The state of water supply in the fight against COVID-19

We need to wash our hands with running water to keep safe during COVID-19 period. That is one problem affecting the fight against Coronavirus. Sandra Ezekwesili highlights this as she begins the Big HardFacts on 88.3 Nigeria Info FM.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that only 33 percent of Nigerians lack access to water supply. Sandra explains what it means: For every three Nigerians, one of them doesn’t have access to pipe-borne water, or to a bore-hole close to their house.

“Now, you may say that it’s actually more than that because that figure seems to be low,” she says. “Let’s go back to the advice that Nigerians should their hands with running water several times a day, to prevent COVID-19. How will those 33 percent of Nigerians who don’t have running water manage?”

She continues to say that water supply may be a problem for Nigerians as we face the pandemic. So, she’s asking what the water supply situation in different states?
