Tems, the Nigerian artist who has become a household name is taken her trade to a new level. She just got to #1 on Billboard Hot 100 chart, a place that Future and Drake helped her to reach.
She had come close to that level on the same chart last year when Essense, the song by Wizkid got to #10 on the world-reknown chart.
Well, the big girl got so big this week.
What made Tems to get to this stage?
- She’s a good singer. Only Wizkid is the first person in the world to know this, and he partnered with her right away. She owes him something though some folks will disagree.
- She is unique. But more than that, Tems carries herself in a way that many singers her age don’t. She doesn’t expose her body for anyone or anything.
- She adds value to the work of international stars. They know that Tems is not REALLY a Nigerian singer. She could be new Aretha Franklin but I don’t think she wants to sing like anyone else. Now, that’s the stuff that stars are made of. If she is able to continue singing good songs, she’ll go a long way.
